Construction worker Jason Haney thought it would be fun to cheer up children in the hospital across from his building site. His idea? A life size game of ‘Where’s Waldo’!
Videos by InspireMore
It all started over christmas when Haney brought in a giant inflatable snowman. After seeing kids crowded in the window across the street, one of his co-workers made the comment ‘wouldn’t it be cool if we did something like Where’s Waldo’?
Haney took the idea and ran with it.

Haney, with the help of his daughter (who had been hospitalized at age 3 from a stroke), created an 8-foot-tall cutout of the ever elusive Waldo. The kind hearted construction worker takes time every morning to put Waldo in a new hiding place so hospitalized kids will have something fun to do with their day.

“It didn’t take long to catch on, the kids whether they are in the rooms or in a play area, they look across as soon as they get to the window,” a hospital official said.

Once Haney is notified that the kids found Waldo, the large cut-out is moved to a different spot, and the kids look for it again. Haney has even created a Facebook group for the kids to post their finds!
The best part? Haney and his daughter are already working on cut-out “Minions”for his next project!

“They will look all over the building, point and exclaim ‘I found him!
Giving these kids the chance to be kids, is Haney’s driving motivation. Knowing that these incredilbe little tykes have a reason to smile, despite facing a long road to recovery, is all it takes to keep the tradition alive.

“I did all this to make the kids smile’.”
Bravo Jason Haney, bravo. We can all learn something from your thoughtfulness.
