Anyone who has ever coached or volunteered for a youth sport knows that kids are unpredictable athletes, to say the least. While some children might take their time on the field very seriously, others might just want to goof off and try to make each other laugh!

When a team is comprised entirely of kids who are only three and four years old, it’s way too early to expect them to take anything too seriously. They’re just out there to get some exercise, make friends, and have a good time!
Case in point: the Walnut Pony Foal USC Trojan team.

It seems that Lennox Salcedo, a three-year-old little league player from Walnut, California, is one of those kids who never misses a chance to entertain. During a recent game with his little baseball team, Lennox was caught on video doing his own thing, purely for comedy’s sake.

During a sunny afternoon game, Lennox was on third base when his coach urged him to run as fast as he could towards home. But instead of running as fast as his little legs would carry him, he went the opposite route and did a rather impressive slow-motion run that had everyone in the stands cracking up!

It seems Lennox’s entire goal was to entertain.
“He is definitely a character,” Lennox’s mom Sabrina Salcedo said. “The third base coach asked him to run fast to home plate, and Lennox gave him a thumbs up. And this is what he did.”
During his hilariously slo-mo jog towards home base, Lennox’s dad and coach, Edgar Salcedo, even approached the player to tell him to hurry it up a bit… but Lennox wasn’t having it!

Literally shaking his well-intentioned father off, Lennox continued his slow, “Chariots Of Fire” run toward the finish line.
“He was definitely trying to put on a show for everyone,” Sabrina said. Mission accomplished, little guy!

The video ended with Lennox’s dramatic and drawn-out slide/roll into home, but now this moment will live on forever as one of the funniest viral videos around. Team mom Leah Espinoza shot the video, and as soon as Lennox’s cousin Tabby Rodriquez saw it, she knew she had to share it.
After Tabby put the video on Twitter, it went seriously viral. It’s now been viewed over 6.7 million times, and counting!
