The little girl was born with congenital neutropenia, a rare blood disorder that resulted in her needing bone marrow transplants and having a number of other tough complications. Despite it all, the sweet child was full of smiles and joy – and refused to give up!

In 2017 when Leah was hospitalized for just shy of a year, her mom Lindsay had to find ways to keep her kiddo occupied, which was no easy task. She started searching for songs online that her 4-year-old might like, which was how they came to know and love “Overcomer.”

On a particularly good day, Leah was jamming out to the song, so Lindsay did what any parent would – she took a video. In it, Leah starts out lip-syncing, but soon, she’s belting out the powerful lyrics in her adorable little voice.

The clip was both adorable and inspirational, so Lindsay shared it on social media. It didn’t take long before it went viral, earning Leah the nickname of “The Overcomer.”

Her new title seemed perfect to her mom, who decided to make the song Leah’s anthem.

“The song itself is just really, really fitting for her life, you know, being an overcomer and getting through everything she’s been through,” Lindsay explained.

These days, Leah is a healthy 7-year-old who loves life! Not only is her immune system getting stronger and stronger, but she’s also “100 percent pharmaceutical free.”

Leah’s spirit and joy is contagious, and we’re so happy to see how far she’s come! Lindsay is right: “Overcomer” is the perfect song for this warrior!

Watch Leah rock out to her anthem in the video below, and be sure to share this story with your friends.
