Not many 11-year-old girls get the chance to sing in front of a crowd of 20,000-plus people. But Lauren Spencer-Smith was given the opportunity to do just that at Canada’s Sunfest Country Music Festival in 2015.
Keith Urban was performing at the festival, and during his show, he explained that he’d run a competition to find someone to sing with him onstage. “She’s got an amazing little voice and she’s only 11,” Keith says of the winner. That’s when he introduces Lauren to the cheering crowd.

If I hadn’t been told that Lauren is 11, I would have thought she was years older. She exudes such confidence and maturity, despite the fact she’s in front of an insanely huge audience, and looks as if she’s been performing at massive music festivals for years.

“If you guys know this one, join in,”Keith says to the crowd as he begins to play “Make You Feel My Love,”a gorgeous ballad written by Bob Dylan and later brilliantly covered by Adele.

After the first verse, Keith joins in with his vocals and the two carry out a powerful duet. At the end of the song, the audience gives her rave reviews with clapping and cheering, and it’s clear that they are just as blown away as we are. Her talent is truly incredible.
