Oscar-nominated actress Diane Ladd passed away on November 3 at age 89. While her career was certainly her passion, Diane was also a beloved mother. Her daughter, Academy Award Winner Laura Dern, shared a statement with People following her mother’s death.

“My amazing hero and my profound gift of a mother, Diane Ladd, passed with me beside her this morning, at her home in Ojai, Calif.,” Laura Dern shared
“She was the greatest daughter, mother, grandmother, actress, artist, and empathetic spirit that only dreams could have seemingly created,” she added. “We were blessed to have her. She is flying with her angels now.”
Diane Ladd’s death came as a shock to many fans who shared sweet tributes to the actress on social media.
“Deeply saddened to learn that three-time Oscar nominee Diane Ladd has passed at the age of 89. She is also the mother of Oscar-winning Laura Dern. Heartfelt condolences to her family and friends,” a fan wrote on X.
“I’m so sad to learn that Diane Ladd has died at the age of 89. I’ll be forever grateful that I got the chance to see her and her daughter, Laura Dern, at the 2023 #TCMFF. It was such a joy to witness their relationship. What an amazing talent Ladd was,” another fan shared.
