It helps that both of these women were absolutely thrilled to be on stage with one another. They’re a pretty formidable pair in the world of country music. Lainey Wilson is the current titleholder of the CMA’s Entertainer of the Year award, while Wynonna Judd has been a household name since the 1980s! According to American Songwriter, performing together was a dream come true for both artists.
“I can’t believe I’m on stage with Wynonna,” Wilson raved during the show.
Meanwhile, Judd proclaimed, “I’d open for you any day.”
Keep an eye out for Petty Country.
Of course, this isn’t the last fans will hear of the incredible Refugee duet. Lainey Wilson and Wynonna Judd’s cover will be featured on the Tom Petty tribute album, Petty Country. This record includes songs from a number of different artists, all commemorating the late singer.
After opening her “Country’s Cool Again” tour at the Ascend Amphitheater, Wilson will go on to play two more Nashville venues (including the iconic Grand Ole Opry) before moving on to other cities across the United States. You can find tour dates and tickets on her website.
