Taylor the yellow lab served America faithfully through two deployments as a military bomb sniffing dog. She was so good at her job that the Taliban put a bounty on her life. The sweet pup saved countless US and allied lives while in Afghanistan, but after two tours overseas it was finally time for Taylor to retire.
Tay-Tay, as she’s affectionately known, worked with several handlers over her career, but few soldiers bonded with her like Sgt. Tom Hanson. Hanson and Taylor worked, slept and played together in one of the worst war zones in living memory.
The military ties to pair the faithful K-9’s with a handler they worked with overseas, but the process is often costly and time consuming. Reuniting these dogs with heir handlers is essential, and one woman has reached into her own pocket to make bring them together again.
