A trip to the Indy 500 usually means witnessing incredible racing, but for these two sisters, it also meant finding a new addition to their family. Although Juliana had never been to the historic automobile race before, she decided that going for her birthday was the perfect time. Little did she know just how perfect their timing was!

While at the race, Juliana and her sister noticed a frightened creature. It turned out to be a small kitten. The poor thing found himself stuck in the middle of the road. He dodged cars for a while before finding temporary safety in a tire well.
“He was so dirty and just so frightened,” Juliana said.
Juliana and her sister are no strangers to cats. In fact, they already had five of their own at home. Some might think that adding a sixth cat into the mix would be too much, but once this little guy was in their hands, they couldn’t resist.
“As soon as I grabbed that cat, I was like, ‘This is my cat now,'” Juliana recalled.
Still, it was important that Mishka, Malaa, Mochi, Marvin, and Masuku got along with their newest feline. To ensure the six of them got off to a great start, they kept the kitten hidden in a separate room. Each cat was introduced to him one at a time.
“He was never scared of my cats,” Juliana said. “He immediately wanted to play with them and show them that he’s the boss now.”
Although their five cats were a bit unsure of the kitten at first, soon, they were happy to take him in as one of their own. Plus, the way Juliana and her sister discovered him set them up to give him the purrfect name, one that starts with an M just like the rest of his new cat family: Moto.
“We got to watch him go from very scared to now just running this house,” Juliana said. “When I have kids, they’re going to have him, too. So I get to continue to tell his story, and I love telling everybody.”
