Before his July 2026 visit, it had been four long years since Prince Harry and his children spent any time with King Charles. Until the reunion occurred, some doubted the king and his son would ever see each other again. Prince Harry was in the United Kingdom to promote the 2027 Invictus Games. Meghan Markle, Prince Archie, and Princess Lilibet joined their father a few days into his trip. This marked a huge moment for the royal family. An inside source told Vanity Fair the meeting was “completely cloak-and-dagger, orchestrated by the king.”

King Charles Wanted Zero Details Released About His Meeting With Prince Harry
Per the source, when Queen Camilla learned that Prince Harry and his family were at Highgrove House, she reportedly rushed over from her Ray Mill House estate to meet them.
“The king wanted to see Harry and the children. A time was agreed for the Sussexes to come to Highgrove on Friday afternoon, and it was uncharacteristically last-minute for the king. Everyone was sworn to secrecy so that the meeting could remain private,” the source claims.
King Charles evidently wanted Queen Camilla to be there to see Prince Harry, his wife and children.
“Charles wanted Camilla to be there for moral support and because she has been a pillar of strength for him throughout all the drama with Harry, and she dropped everything. She told no one, not even her family. She just got in the car and headed over. They were all on a mission to keep the meeting as watertight as possible,” the source said.
We will likely never see photos or learn much about what happened behind closed doors. Aides were reportedly instructed to confirm the meeting only after Harry left.
“They were at Highgrove for an hour or so, but don’t expect to hear anything about what was said,” the source told Vanity Fair. “That was the promise Harry made to his father. It’s critical because this is the first time the families have met in four years. Harry was very pleased it happened because everything was up in the air.”
