Seeing children become civic-minded members of our society is a beautiful thing, and it just so happens to be what Kids Helping Our Veterans is all about!
According to kids Roy and Perry, the group was started to find ways to help local veterans lead healthy, active lives. They frequently collect donations on social media to support community projects like Memorial Day parades, but they recently asked their fans for something a bit different.
A veteran in their neighborhood was having a hard time getting around, so he requested some help with mobility. The Kids Helping Our Veterans team got to work raising enough money to buy him a brand new motorized scooter.
In a video, we see the moment the children hide outside his door with a massive gift-wrapped box. When he comes out and sees what they’ve done for him, you can just tell he’s tickled pink!
