Judges Make Teen Singer Stop Audition — She Goes On To Blow Them All Away.

There’s a reason that “American Idol” was on television for more than a decade and is set to return next year – it was one of the most successful TV shows in history and brought us greats like Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood.

But it was also a great show because it gave us an inside look at how stars were made. We literally got to watch unknowns walk into an audition room, sing their hearts out, and blossom into superstars. One of the most adorable beginnings came from Kellie Pickler.

Of course, you probably know the 31-year-old singer from her impressive music career or from her appearances on “Dancing with the Stars,” and now, her own talk show.

So given all her success, it makes it that much greater to see her humble “American Idol” audition as an unknown 19-year-old out of North Carolina.

She first came on the screen in 2006 on the show’s fifth season.

A little shy, yet excited, Kellie introduces herself, telling the judges that she’s, “Kellie Pickler. Pick Pickler. Pick me.”

She jumps into her song, choosing an a cappella version of Kelly Clarkson’s “Since You’ve Been Gone.”

Kellie belts out all the right notes before judge Paula Abdul stops her, commending her talent.

Kellie had a minor freak out as she began to understand the gravity of the situation and then composed herself to sing another 20 seconds of a different song.

When she was finished, even Simon was impressed! The judges gave her three yeses and her reaction is so adorable, you just have to watch it for yourself.
