Stunned Kangaroo Thanks Good Samaritans Who Rescued Him From Freezing Lake.

two men pulling kangaroo from lake

There are moments when wild animals seem so much like us! David Boyd was at Lake Burley Griffin in Canberra, Australia, one day when he spotted two men jumping into the chilly water. Their mission: to rescue a kangaroo who had somehow ended up in the water and was too chilled to get back to shore.

David took a video of the scene, set against a picturesque sunset, and later shared it on Facebook. The Good Samaritans approached the kangaroo with caution. While kangaroos may look cute and are generally docile, they can actually be quite dangerous when they’re cornered or frightened. This little ‘roo, however, seemed too exhausted to argue as the men lifted him up and carried him back to dry land. As they decided how best to help the animal, the little guy placed his paws on one of their forearms to steady himself.

“Aw it’s thanking you,” David said from behind the camera. It really does seem that way! Moments later, the kangaroo hopped off unharmed, leaving his rescuers with a moment they’ll never forget!
