Just In Time: Rescuers Carry Mother Dog And Her Puppies From House As Floodwaters Rise.

A man rescues a dog from dangerous floodwaters.

A mama dog and her puppies were rescued from their home by two rival football players during a dangerous flood in Canada. When Brady Oliveira and Shai Ross arrived, the area surrounding the Peguis First Nation residence was already underwater. They found the adult dog panicking outside the house while her babies were inside. Between the two men, they were able to carry the pooches to safety.

Apparently, the owners of both the residence and the dogs were forced to flee their home due to the rising floodwaters. However, they made sure to contact emergency services and notify them about the pets they’d left behind, according to CTV News. Brady works with K9 Advocates Manitoba, so paramedics entrusted him with the house keys. Thankfully, he and Shai got there in time to rescue the frantic dogs!

Once the pooches were on dry land, they received a checkup. Their owners decided to give them up, allowing K9 Advocates Manitoba to place them in a foster home.

Unfortunately, many commenters who watched footage of the rescue on Instagram became infuriated when they saw that the dogs were abandoned. Although the video doesn’t mention that the owners contacted the authorities, the caption includes this information. There’s also a link to the CTV News article.
