Lovebirds With Combined Age Of 214 Yrs Break World Record For Oldest Married Couple.

Julio Cesar Mora Tapia and Waldramina Maclovia Quinteros Reyes have lived through many historical events. Now, the couple is making history themselves!

One of the secrets to a long life must be love, because both of them turned a century old years ago! Julio Cesar, who is 110, was born in 1910, while Waldramina, who is 104, was born in 1915. Their combined age of 214 years is not only inspiring, but it’s also breaking records!

This year, Guinness World Records officially recognized the lovebirds as the world’s oldest living married couple. They’ve been husband and wife for 79 years, and neither could be happier!

The Ecuadorians met through Waldramina’s brother-in-law, who just so happened to be Julio Cesar’s cousin. While neither of their families approved of their relationship, they couldn’t deny their feelings.

Waldramina fell head over heels for Julio Cesar’s poetry, while the latter adored their conversations and Waldramina’s big heart. They tied the knot on February 7, 1941, at La Iglesia de El Belen, Quito’s oldest church.

“It was not easy because our relatives did not have a good relationship, but with time and patience we were able to unite them, and we became an example and the best reference for the younger generations,” they told Guinness World Records.

But their proudest achievement together? Raising five children, all of whom have earned college degrees. Now, they have 11 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and nine great-great-grandchildren!

Their advice for a successful relationship is simple yet powerful.

“Family unity under the rules of love, mutual respect, honest work, and proper education based on family values are the keys to healthy coexistence,” they said. “The love and maturity that we had as a couple from the beginning of the marriage allowed us to know each other and grow emotionally to define our future.”

Congratulations, you two! While you’ve already enjoyed a long, fulfilling life, it’s clear you still have plenty of love left in you!
