Joyful Moment Woman Is Reunited With Her Dog After Being In A Coma And Losing All Four Limbs.

When we go through some of the toughest moments in life, having those we care about by our side can mean the world. These folks are often those we call family or a significant other, but they can also be our pets. After months of health issues, Jasmine found herself in the hospital for weeks. Seeing how tough life has been for her lately, a much needed and joyful dog reunion was arranged.

Jasmine, who is 21 years old, was born with a genetic mutation. She’s been diagnosed with numerous conditions including gastroparesis, heart failure, and intestinal dysmotility. Still, she manages to pursue a degree in nursing school and works part time.

Then, in May 2023, Jasmine’s health declined rapidly. Eventually, she was put on ECMO — this removes blood from the body and runs it through the machine before returning the now oxygenated blood back to the body. According to a GoFundMe to help her family, this is the maximum form of life support.

Thankfully, Jasmine defied all odds and survived. Unfortunately, though, this experience left doctors with no choice: Her lower legs and her hands/part of her arm had to be amputated due to necrosis.

Becoming a quad amputee hasn’t been easy. But getting the chance to be reunited with her beloved dog has meant the world to Jasmine.

As soon as Jasmine and her dog are in the same room, it’s clear just how much they’ve missed one another. Her dog whimpers as she takes her place on Mom’s lap, a place she’s no doubt missed for far too long.

“The main reason I continued to fight,” Jasmine shares. “She was so gentle around me when I was sick.”

Jasmine will need time to adjust to life with prosthetics, but she still hopes to one day pursue a career in nursing. Thankfully, with her sweet dog and other loved ones by her side, she won’t be on this journey alone.
