We’ve told you before about Jordan Smith, the winner of Season 9 on The Voice. First there was his incredible performance of Great Is Thy Faithfulness while still on the show, and then there was this jaw-dropping rendition of the National Anthem at the NHL Winter Classic. Now the 23-year-old superstar is wowing us once again!
At this year’s CMA Country Christmas show Jordan performed “You’re A Mean One Mr. Grinch”, and– even though it’s the anthem of a nasty, Holiday-hating Grinch– Jordan had the audience at Nashville’s Grand Ole Opry House cheering.
Even though Jordan isn’t a country singer, he still entertained the crowd of artists and CMA fans with his performance. He belted out the familiar melody with fresh energy and an updated arrangement. And his vocals were met with dazzling accompaniment from a jaw-dropping band!
Not only was it a great number, the entire show was for a good cause! As has been the case in previous years, the CMA Country Christmas show is both a concert and a massive toy drive.
According to the video’s description on YouTube, “Audience members are invited to bring an unwrapped toy for deserving children in need throughout Middle Tennessee. In 2015, through a partnership with ABC Television Network and the U.S. Marine Corps’ Toys for Tots program, CMA collected more than 5,000 unwrapped gifts.”
Now that’s the Holiday spirit! Take that, Mr. Grinch.
