London Customs Agent Reminds John Krasinski That He “Married Up”.

It always comes as kind of a blow when someone doesn’t believe you, and it can be downright hazardous when it comes to getting through airport customs. For John Krasinski, fortunately, his recent custom’s issue didn’t arise to the level of international incident … or did it?

The Office star made an appearance recently on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,”to promote his upcoming horror film, “The Quiet Place,”which he directed and co-stars along with his lovely wife, British actress, Emily Blunt.

But in between promotional appearances, he’s been making regular visits to London to visit his wife of eight years as she continues filming “Mary Poppins Returns,”set for release in December.

After chit-chatting about life and family, John begins describing a hysterical encounter with a customs official in London. It was both humbling and served as a reminder, he admitted, that he “married up.â€

All was well in the beginning, he said, but things took a nasty turn when the agent saw his occupation: Actor.

Maybe it was the full beard, but he didn’t recognize John as the guy who played Jim Halpert in the U.S. version of “The Office”— which, obviously, was a spin-off of the original British mockumentary sitcom.

That, John told Jimmy, was his “Strike one!â€

Then the agent asked the reason for his visit, and John replied that he was visiting his wife.

“He says, ‘Oh, is she an actress? Would I know her?’ And I said, ‘I don’t know man, her name’s Emily Blunt.’ And he goes like this, ‘You? You married Emily Blunt?”

Nothing like having a customs agent in utter disbelief to put you in your place and remind you, with a raised eyebrow, that you married way above your station.
