Joey Lawrence and his wife, Samantha Cope, announced they were expecting a baby in November 2025 at a red carpet event for the 20th anniversary of Dancing with the Stars. The news came as a bit of a surprise as the pair had been separated, but now it appears that is water under the bridge, and they’re thrilled to welcome their baby boy very soon. Joey Lawrence played the clueless, but hot, older brother, Joey Russo, on Blossom in the ‘90s. He was a heartthrob, but not very smart. His character often said things that never should have come out of his mouth, as in a recent Instagram video.

Joey Lawrence’s Video Will Totally Make You Yearn for the “Blossom” Days
In the video, Samantha walks in the door looking beautiful and very pregnant. Joey rushes down the stairs to greet Samantha, who tells him she had a great doctor appointment and the baby weighed 6 1b 5 oz. Just like he did on Blossom, Joey gets that signature surprised look and says something no pregnant woman ever wants to hear.
“Six and a half pounds,” Joey exclaims. “What a minute. That doesn’t add up. Didn’t you gain like 45 pounds?”
The video then cuts to what looks like a funeral card reading, “In Loving Memory. Joe Lawrence, 1976-2026,” as Boyz II Men’s End of the Road plays. It’s so funny, and fans loved it.
“You asked for it Joey,” a fan wrote.
Lots of people came in with jokes.
“Bye bye sir,” one person wrote. “You will truly be missed.”
“Samantha, where do we meet with the shovels?” Another person added.
This fan had a reminder for Joey, writing, “There are some questions you do not ask. EVA!!!”
