While serving in Afghanistan in 2009, Staff Sgt. Jesse Cottle was seriously wounded by an IED and lost both of his legs. It took a while to adjust once getting back home, being a veteran and a double-amputee.
But things started looking up when his prosthetic legs enabled him to get out more after being released from the hospital. That’s when he met the love of his life, Kelly, who wasn’t affected by Jesse’s condition.
“If I wouldn’t have stepped on that IED, I don’t think I would have met her. I wouldn’t take it back, ever,” said Cottle.
Now the two are happier than ever, married and loving life. Four years after meeting, the two wanted to spend time in Boise with Kelly’s family. That’s where they took a very special photoshoot that’s gone viral and inspired hundreds of thousands around the globe.
Jesse and Kelly’s story is one of unconditional love. Make sure to share their beautiful message with the world!
