Getting older is tough, but watching your children get older is even harder. As young parents, we’re always warned not to blink because life goes by so quickly. When you’re in the throes of newborn life, it seems like it will never end. But then you wake up and your child is suddenly taller than you, driving, and getting ready to move out. It seems almost unfair that childhood is so fleeting that we can miss it if we’re not careful. Jenna Hager Bush is having a hard time adjusting to her oldest daughter, Mila’s, burgeoning adolescence.

Jenna Bush Hager Opened Up About Her Daughter On “Today, With Jenna & Friends”
Jenna Bush Hager and her daughter went to see Gracie Abrams, and the mom of three found herself moved to tears thinking about the experience.
“It was so much fun and I don’t like… I’m going through something, obviously. My oldest is going into middle school,” Jenna said. “For whatever reason, we sat down, and this is like, think about how embarrassing this is as a child. And just seeing how excited they were for her. I started crying. I was like, ‘This is so beautiful. Look at like…’ To see this concert through their eyes.”
She said her husband, Henry Hager, got up to get the family sodas, and Jenna Bush Hager looked at their daughter and wondered if this was the last time she’d want to sit with her at a show.
“And he got back and he was like, ‘Are you crying again?’ And I was like, I just was thinking time is going so fast. And she’ll sit next to me and hold my hand a little. And he’s like, ‘Don’t cry. She’s humiliated. You know, you want to keep her next to you.’ But it was so fun,” she said.
Lots of moms understood Jenna’s plight.
“I get it!! I also immediately cry thinking of time passing so quickly,” one wrote.
This person offered Jenna Bush Hager a tip to keep her daughter with her forever.
“Jenna, don’t fret! As long as you pay for the tickets, the kids will join you! I’m in my 60’s and my 33 year old son and I still go to concerts together,” she wrote.
