Jeff Bezos Shares Heartfelt Tribute Following The Death Of His Mom

Less than two months after celebrating the excitement of a new marriage, Jeff Bezos made a heartbreaking announcement. The Amazon founder lost his mother, Jackie Bezos, to Lewy body dementia. She fought a long and courageous battle, and Jeff Bezos made sure to let the world know just how much he loved his mom.

“Her adulthood started a little bit early when she became my mom at the tender age of 17. That couldn’t have been easy, but she made it all work. She pounced on the job of loving me with ferocity, brought my amazing dad onto the team a few years later, and then added my sister and brother to her list of people to love, guard, and nourish. For the rest of her life, that list of people to love never stopped growing. She always gave so much more than she ever asked for,” Jeff wrote.

Jeff Bezos Said Family Surrounded His Mom When She Passed

Jeff Bezos said his mom had her most staunch supporters by her side at the time of her death.

“After a long fight with Lewy Body Dementia, she passed away today, surrounded by so many of us who loved her — her kids, grandkids, and my dad. I know she felt our love in those final moments. We were all so lucky to be in her life. I hold her safe in my heart forever. Jacklyn Gise Bezos December 29, 1946 -August 14, 2025. I love you, mom,” Jeff Bezos wrote.

Many followers shared kind words with Jeff Bezos following his mom’s death.

“They say behind every great man, there is a great women,” someone complimented.

“She was really cool. I worked with her with Students Rebuild right after the tsunami in Japan. It was a wonderful experience,” another person wrote.

“Lovely tribute ..Please help fund research to find a cure for this devastating disease,” a comment suggested.
