Janet Jackson has some incredibly fast-moving dancing feet. Apparently, her mind works just as quickly. The Escapade singer recently told British Vogue about an embarrassing wardrobe malfunction in front of an extremely well-known person. No, it’s not the infamous Super Bowl half-time debacle in 2004. This one happened in front of royalty.

Janet Was In The Presence Of The Queen
She told British Vogue she was wearing black pants as part of her Rhythm Nation outfit. Janet was performing the iconic choreography to the 1989 dance track when it happened.
“Funny story,” she told the publication. “I was performing for the Queen of England, and we were doing Rhythm Nation. Sure enough, as soon as I squatted, my pants split right up my booty crack.”
Janet knew she could not let the Queen see what had happened, so she improvised a bit.
She said she “couldn’t believe it happened…. Then I started feeling air back there, so I knew it had really happened,” The pop legend’s solution? “I never turned my back to her, which, some of the choreography, I was supposed to. I just faced forward.”
Janet has never shied away from fashion and often performs at her shows in elaborate costumes. A Janet Jackson concert is an event, not just a musical performance. From sets to lighting to incredibly detailed outfits, Janet doesn’t miss a thing.
She started as an actress in Good Times in 1977 but switched her focus to music in 1982. Since then, she’s released 11 studio albums and won 11 American Music Awards, 11 Billboard Music Awards, five Grammys, five MTV Music Awards, two MTV Europe Awards, and 13 Soul Train Awards.
Janet is an icon whose quick thinking under pressure proves she’s always in control.
