Sister Passionately Signs Adorable Song To Younger Brother With Cerebral Palsy.

For most of us, we don’t know there is a problem or lack of awareness in any system until either someone brings it to our attention or we love someone who doesn’t get to enjoy life to the fullest because of it. Now, thanks to social media, influencers are able to raise awareness on a much larger scale and gain enough momentum to truly make a change.

For Jade Kilduff, her mission is to increase exposure to sign language and to eventually “sign in all schools“. She does this through various social media channels where she posts videos of herself and her little brother signing songs.

Jade’s little brother, Christian, has cerebral palsy, a brain injury, and visual impairment. Even though he is able to hear, his family started signing to him as a way to communicate with him and it seemed to work well. Through sign language, Christian can hear and process conversations and, his favorite, music.

Jade has a close relationship with her sweet little brother, and enjoys signing with him to music. So, the duo came up with the idea to post videos of themselves signing songs to each other. Additionally, Jade posts a “sign of the day” to help teach her followers how to sign.

Recently, Jade posted a video of herself and Christian signing “Someone You Loved” which she says is one of their favorite songs to sign. In it, Jade passionately signs every word and Christian both sings and signs, and can hardly contain his joy. The siblings’ bond is apparent in the video, especially when Christian leans over to hug his sister mid-song.

People from all over the world are touched by the love these two have for each other and how dedicated Jade is to her little brother.

While all of the attention this particular video has brought her, Jade has remained focused on the mission. When Giles Paley-Phillips retweeted the video, Jade responded with, “I’m so grateful and feel so honored that you’ve chosen our video to post. Christian is my world and I’m so glad that awareness of the importance of signing is being spread.” Even viral fame can’t sidetrack this sweet sister from sharing sign language with the world.
