Toddlers love to obsess over all kinds of things as they learn to navigate the world, and for Knight Smith, that includes airplanes, a love that only grew stronger after his first flight ever!
In coordination with American Airlines, this adorable 2-year-old had the opportunity to get a tour of the cockpit with their pilot. Knight was in awe as he sat up front, amazed by the complex control system in front of him. His mom, Keeundra Smith, shared the moment on social media to highlight the importance of representation – like Knight, the pilot was also Black.
“It was everything! I fly at least once a year, and I’ve never seen a black pilot in person,” Keeundra wrote in reply to a comment on her TikTok. “I’ll never forget this.”
