Iconic Redhead Looks Better than Ever at 85 During Rare Red Carpet Appearance

Ann-Margret

In the 1960s, Ann-Margret was at the height of her career with hit films like Bye Bye Birdie, The Swinger, and Love in Las Vegas. She was a certified sex symbol and a woman many men fell in love with. Ann-Margret did two tours of Vietnam during the War to let soldiers know just how much she cares. In show business, they call her a “triple threat” for her singing, dancing, and acting abilities. But there’s actually nothing threatening about Ann-Margret at all. In fact, she has a heart of gold, and the USO recently honored her with a commemorative USO Challenge Coin for her long-standing dedication to our troops, according to the USO’s Instagram.

Ann-Margret Still Stuns at 85

Photos from the evening at the Margaret Herrick Library in Beverly Hills, California, show Ann-Margret with her signature red hair and sweet smile. She’s a classic Hollywood beauty who’s as lovely on the inside as she is on the outside, and her fans let her know how much they appreciate her. She once told the USO about acts of kindness from men in the Armed Forces following the Vietnam War.

“All through the years, whenever I would perform, whatever city, whatever state I was in, I would get these little notes saying, ‘I saw you in Cu Chi or Da Nang,’” she said. “They were these little crumpled up notes and sometimes they would send me a picture of me and them that they took.”

Those moments touched Ann-Margret’s heart the same way that she touched the hearts of our troops. Sometimes all you need to get through the hardest times of your life is kindness. Ann-Margret provided that for others, and they knew and felt it in their hearts. We could all learn a bit from that triple threat.
