“I Was Really Honestly Near Tears.” Mom About To Lose It Over Kids’ Meltdowns Gets Sweetest Note From Stranger. “Thank You … For Giving Me Exactly What I Needed In That Moment.”

a two-photo collage. the first is devon linden smiling as she talks with the local news about the kind stranger who gave her $100 and a note. the second is a closeup of a note devon linden got from a stranger. the note is blue and on it is written, "your life and purpose is huge!!! life is so precious. every day is a gift, so make it count. enjoy!!"

It’s not easy being a parent, especially when your kids are having a rough day.

Devon Linden’s children go to swim practice every week, usually without much fuss, but a recent visit proved to be much different. Both of her kiddos were having meltdowns, and this Bentonville, Arkansas mom was struggling to calm them down.

“I was really, honestly, near tears just as a mom trying to keep it together and get my kids out of there,” Devon shared.

Then, amidst the chaos, a stranger handed her a note of encouragement. Devon didn’t get the chance to read it until she got in the car but, once she did, she broke down crying.

“Your life and purpose is huge,” the note read. “Life is so precious. Every day is a gift, so make it count. Enjoy!”

In addition to these kind words was a $100 bill.

“In a moment where she saw me struggling, she didn’t pass judgement on me, my kids, my parenting, anything that was happening,” Devon said. “She just chose to bless me.”

After experiencing such kindness, Devon now strives to be like this kind stranger so she can “be impactful in the best way.”

They may never meet again, but if this thankful mom could tell this kind stranger just one thing, she’d say, “Really just thank you for seeing me in a hard time and really just giving me exactly what I needed in that moment to feel like I can spend my day being a good mom and person.”

Don’t forget to share Devon’s story to spread the love she felt thanks to a generous stranger.
