Marina Maysinovich calls herself a geriatric mom (she isn’t geriatric). She recently reposted an adorable video from their Ring cam. The footage is a simple conversation between a mom and her son about the trials and tribulations of growing up.

Standing at the door, the son begins the conversation by asking his mom, “How will I get a girl?” While pure and innocent, the question is also opening a huge subject. The boy appears to be around eight or nine years old. Marina says she discovered the video while going through old videos. We have no clue how old it is, but we can guess it was about two years ago.
The conversation between mom and son continues, as Marina clarifies, “How do you get somebody to love?” He adds that he’s curious about when he’s a grown-up, he wants to know how he will get someone to marry. Marina, being serious, tells him that he will date people and will find someone you love.
She elaborates, saying that once he dates people, he will find someone he thinks is beautiful, and you guys think similarly, and you guys might fall in love. His last concern is if he doesn’t know her. His mom tells him it will be OK and that he’ll get to know her.
As parents, we sometimes forget these short exchanges with our children. Having the Ring cam recording means that this precious memory won’t be lost. As Marina revisits this bit of parenting, it probably rekindled the “awwww” she felt while having this conversation.
