Horse Rescued From Treacherous Slope After Falling Off Grand Canyon Trail.

A horse was rescued from a dangerous situation.

A brave woman recently helped rescue a horse that had fallen off the edge of a trail on the Grand Canyon. Cassie, who describes herself on TikTok as a “New York cowgirl,” shared the harrowing experience in a viral video. She found the distressed mare trapped on the side of a dangerous slope and proceeded to remove the horse’s riding gear. While Cassie freed the animal, her husband was busy helping the rider, who had been bucked off on the trail.

“I can’t describe the gut wrenching feeling I had when I heard ‘Her horse went over the edge.’ It wasn’t even a decision… I knew I had to help,” she wrote in the video caption. “It is hard to capture how steep this area is on video. To give you an idea… I had to slide all the way back down to the trail. Only a few rooted trees to depend on.”

Thankfully, both mare and rider are now safe!

I can’t describe the gut wrenching feeling I had when I heard “Her horse went over the edge”. It wasn’t even a decision … I knew I had to help. Wasn’t sure what condition I would find the horse but I wouldn’t stop looking until I found her. Seeing a 1,000 horse above your head on a steep slope is another feeling I will never forget. It is hard to capture how steep this area is on video. To give you an idea … I had to slide all the way back down to the trail. Only a few rooted trees to depend on. Everything just gave way under your feet. The owner broke her tibia in four places. She had to go into surgery. Such a strong woman with a beautiful heart. Prayers that she recovers quickly. Very thankful everything worked out that day & everyone, including the horse, made it back home. #horse #rescue #savinganimals #horserescue #cowgirlup #grandcanyon
