After such a long career, Keith David had an adorable reaction to his selection. He was watching the award show announcements for the Hollywood Walk of Fame awardees, not expecting to hear his name. When he did, the astonished look of shock on his face was either his best acting ever or truly genuine.
You can hear a squeal of joy in the background. That would be Keith David’s wife, who nominated him for the award. Nominations are evaluated, and the Walk of Fame Selection Committee makes selections. The Hollywood Chamber’s Board of Directors then votes for their final selections.
On a post on X, Keith David wrote, “What a surprise! Being blessed to get to do this for a living is enough for me; to be recognized for my contribution to the arts is the cherry on top.” He goes on to thank the selection committee and board of directors. The award ceremony will be happening near his 70th birthday on June 4, 2026, and the actor considers it a “wonderful birthday present.”
