Hoda Kotb Returns To The “Today Show” With Message Of Love For Sheinelle Jones

Hoda Kotb Sheinelle Jones

If there is one thing we know for sure about the Today Show, it’s that they truly are a family. Even when someone departs, they are always welcomed back with open arms and warm hearts. Hoda Kotb left Today in January but has made a few appearances since then, over the last eight months. Most recently, she appeared with her former colleagues during the September 9 broadcast. It was a happy reunion for Hoda Kotb that included time with the beloved Sheinelle Jones. Sadly, Sheinelle’s husband, Uche Ohjeh, passed away in May from Glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer. She departed the show to care for him last December but is back in Rockefeller Center with her TV family.

Hoda Kotb Had Sweet Words Of Encouragement For Sheinelle Jones

Sheinelle recently opened up about Uche’s death and her grief during a sit-down with Today Show anchor Savannah Guthrie. It was a raw and uplifting look at death and life after a loved one passes away, and finding joy. The message touched many people, including Hoda.

During an outdoor segment on Tuesday’s show, Hoda Kotb turned to an emotional Sheinelle Jones and said, “I just said this to Sheinelle, she’s changing lives just by being exactly who she is.”

Hoda wanted Sheinelle to know just how much her candidness about her husband’s death meant to people.

“Three of my friends called immediately after you guys were talking and said that they felt forever changed after listening to that conversation,” Hoda said. “So, I was saying, you don’t have to make any effort. Just be. And you’re doing what you’re doing. So anyway, I love you. That was amazing.”

Fans agreed and cheered Sheinelle on in the Instagram comments.

“Sheinelle helped me get back off the mat and keep fighting for my joy,” a fan shared.

“Shienelle’s interview w/Savannah was everything in one!!!! So inspiring and touching and all of the things!!!!! Sending all of the love and positive vibes,” another agreed. “Best part ‘if you see me laugh, let me find my joy!’”
