Here’s What Van Halen’s Sammy Hagar Did ‘Right’ To Have Success In Both Love & Music

Sammy Hagar, aka the Red Rocker and former frontman of Van Halen, recently shared how he managed both a successful love life and music career.

“My wife goes on the road, she goes everywhere with me,” he told Fox News Digital. “We are together 24/7.”

Sammy is proud of his choice to integrate his personal life with his professional life.

“I can’t tell you how I enjoy having a partner every time something good happens,” he continued. “I don’t want to share that by myself. I don’t want to live in a beautiful home, drive fast cars and walk on a beautiful beach without my wife, you know? It’s really important to have a partner that supports you and that you want to be with and be around, and that’s Kari.”

Sammy and Kari met in the early 1990s on a Van Halen tour. According to Kari, the two “instantly just clicked.”

Sammy admitted to trying to “put the moves on her” but got rejected. However, at a later concert, they reconnected. The rockstar revealed that after just a few days of distance from her, he “kept thinking about her.”

Sammy and Kari quickly fell in love and married in 1995. Soon after, they had two daughters — Kama, 28, and Samantha, 23. The girls also joined their father on the road.

“We packed our kids up, took them out on the road, and sometimes I didn’t tour in the winter because … my kids were in school,” Sammy said. “I did it right.”

Sammy also has two sons — Andrew and Aaron — with his ex-wife, Betsy Berardi. Last year, Andrew told Fox News Digital that his dad “has been really supportive, and he’s such a great human being.”

It’s evident that Sammy is a family man through and through — something he wears as a badge of honor.
