Today, a new break through has the potential to impact thousands of lives. And it’s astounding.

A company called TransMedics has developed a way to reanimate a heart, even if it’s quit beating in the original body. The machine pumps oxygen-rich, warm blood through the organ and keeps the heart tissue healthy and ready for transplant without ever putting it on ice. Up until now, hearts from dead patients have been considered too damaged to use… but all that has changed.
