Happy Cockatoo Struts Her Stuff Any Time Workers Arrive At Her House

Cockatoo Sweet Pea climbs the leg of a worker to say hello.

Sweet Pea is a cockatoo that everyone calls “Chicken.” She adores it. Unable to fly, she runs up to visitors and climbs up their legs to get the attention she craves. Unlike many exotic birds, she is not shy at all and gets overly excited at times. This cockatoo’s favorite visitors are any repair worker who comes to the house.

Whether it’s the HVAC repairman, the lawn guy, or an appliance repairman, the cockatoo runs to the worker and begins to climb. She loves to visit them face-to-face as soon as they enter the house. Most return service workers enter the house and immediately say, “Hey, Chicken!” as the cockatoo runs across the foyer to greet them.

If you are shy about animals, particularly birds, you should avoid service calls to Chicken’s house. Sweet Pea’s best friend is a big black dog named Copper. The two often share guard duties, barking at would-be intruders. Copper accompanies Sweet Pea to greet all visitors.

Sweet Pea isn’t the only bird in the house. Her Mom is known as “The Parrot Lady.” Sweet Pea’s siblings include an Amazon Parrot named Polly, a yellow conure named Thyme, and an African Gray named Brody. On a field trip, Copper introduced his bird siblings to some dogs at the dog park. Not all the dogs were as excited to meet new friends as Sweet Pea.

Sweet Pea fell in love when the piano tuner came and enjoyed the musical interlude. It doesn’t matter to the cockatoo what kind of worker visits her home. She loves them all. While she awaits the arrival of the next worker, Sweet Pea will plot mischief with Copper.

Please share if you would love to meet Sweet Pea.
