Groom’s Brothers Help Mom With ALS Live Out Her Dream Of Dancing At His Wedding.

It’s always a special moment when the groom dances with his mom, but after all that Kathy Poirier has been through, the dance she shared with her son was especially meaningful.

Just before Zak Poirier graduated from law school, his mom was diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). This progressive nervous system disease affects nerve control in the brain and spine. By the time Zak was set to get married, Kathy was no longer able to stand on her own. But that didn’t stop Zak or his brothers from finding a way to make this dream of hers a reality!

First, they lifted her out of her wheelchair and into their arms. Then, together, they gently swayed to the music as tears streamed down their faces. Zak whispered “I love you” into his mom’s ear before lowering her back into her chair. He kissed her on the forehead as their guests erupted with cheers!

“She inspires me every day to be humble, kind and selfless,” Zak wrote on Instagram. “Love you Mom.”

Watch Zak and Kathy’s emotional mother-son dance below, and don’t forget to share.
