Karlee Eldridge, like so many others on their wedding day, was full of so much nervous excitement. Still, there was a bit of sadness, too. Someone she loved dearly, who passed away years before, wouldn’t be there: her dad. On top of that, her dad never got the chance to meet her soon-to-be husband. Little did she know, however, that her groom would honor him in his vows.
This unforgettable part of his vows can be seen in a video shared by Karlee herself. In it, we see the groom explain that, although he never got the chance to speak with Karlee’s dad, Kenny, that didn’t mean he couldn’t share some words with him now. “Karlee would not be the person she is today without your presence,” the groom starts. “She’s a conclusion of your warmth, unconditional love, and guidance. I want you to know that there isn’t anything in the world that makes me as happy as loving your daughter.”
The more he speaks, the more Karlee struggles to hold back tears. Plus, their officiant, who Karlee says is her brother, also becomes visibly overwhelmed by the groom’s heartwarming words.
“This a man who listened to her say she wished her dad could be there for their wedding day and he went out of his way to show up for her,” one person writes in the comments of the video. “Sobbing.”
“Genuinely never thought a stranger’s wedding vows would have me in tears,” another shares.
Needless to say, this groom and his thoughtful vows made their big day all-the-more special — and there’s no doubt Kenny would have loved it.
