Grandma Surprises Grandson With Birthday Balloons “Air-Mailed” From 1,000+ Miles Away

It’s tough to be so far away from the ones you love. Julia Long and her son, Denver, understand this well. While they live in Texas, Julia’s mom resides all the way in California. Needless to say, in-person visits don’t get to happen as often as they’d like. Still, when Denver turned 4 years old, Grandma found a way to use balloons as part of a clever birthday surprise.

It starts with a call between Grandma and Denver. During it, everyone sings “happy birthday,” all while the little boy smiles. But Grandma also takes this time to reveal that she has lots of birthday balloons to give him — and the thousand-plus miles between them can’t get in her way!

Birthday Balloons From Grandma Surprise This Adorable 4-Year-Old

“I’m gonna send balloons up in the air, and they gonna reach you all the way in Texas,” Grandma explains to Denver. “And they gonna come to Texas, and you gonna have them, okay?”

By the time the birthday song ends, it’s time for Denver and Julia to see if Grandma’s balloons have arrived. You might think it would take a while for balloons to travel well over a thousand miles, but with the power of Grandma’s love (and Julia’s help), anything is possible!

Much to the delight of little Denver, all of the balloons that he saw on the video call are now outside his home, attached to one of his parents’ vehicles.

The look of pure joy on Denver’s face when he sees that his Grandma’s balloons actually made it to him is absolutely priceless! This is a magical birthday he’s sure to never forget.
