Customer Overhears Waitress Saying She Adopted 3 Grandsons & Leaves Astounding Tip.

shiela weisgerber grandson tip

We often think of grandmas as women who get the chance to dote on their grandkids occasionally. This, of course, is assuming that grandparents always have a secondary role in the lives of their grandchildren.

But that’s not always true. One grandmother had to make a difficult choice regarding her grandkids, otherwise, her family would have fallen apart. It’s a story that went viral after her touching take resulted in a surprising act of kindness.

Shiela Weisgerber works at the First and Last Chance Bar in North Dakota as a waitress. She uses the income to help support herself and her three young grandsons.

You’re probably wondering just how Shiela became the sole caretaker of her three sweet boys. As she explained to ABC News, her daughter became pregnant with triplets while already caring for an infant, and as a struggling single mom, she didn’t see a way that she could care for four very young children at the same time.

Shiela recalled, “[My daughter] tried to do it, and when the boys were two months, she said she couldn’t do it, so I stepped in and offered to raise the boys.”

But even Shiela found the task to be difficult, and she initially wondered if she’d “bitten off more than she could chew.” But she was determined to keep her family together. Her waitressing job played a big part in that effort.

One afternoon, while discussing her adorable grandsons with some customers, an out-of-town couple overheard her conversation.

Despite only ordering $30 worth of food, the couple left behind a shocking tip for Shiela: $300.

But what the couple wrote on the receipt really left her floored: The note read, “Take care of those boys!”

“I was blown away because to me that’s a lot of money,” Shiela said. The complete strangers were so moved by her dedication to her family that they decided to help the grandmother out.

Shiela took the couple’s advice and split the money among the triplets, opening a $100 savings account for each boy.

What a wonderful random act of kindness! Please share this story to spread the love.
