A video that clearly illustrates this fact has gone viral after being uploaded to Reddit – and it’s the perfect example of humans helping humans live their best lives. In the minute-long clip, we see a young deaf and blind man who’s clearly a big soccer fan. You might think that watching a game would be impossible for someone who can’t see or hear, but this man has friends who make it all possible.

Two men sit next to the disabled man on a couch, with the game on a big television screen in front of them.

Using a small replica of the soccer field, one man holds the deaf man’s hands in his and imitates the gameplay so that he can visualize what is happening. The two communicate using sign language that’s tapped directly onto the palm of each person who is speaking.

When one team scores a goal, the two caregivers instantly react by patting the man on the back and raising his arms triumphantly over his head.

Next, they produce a drum for the man to bang on. The vibrations of the drum are a tangible part of the celebration and allow him to express his joy in a physical way.

Using these ingenious techniques, this young man is able to fully enjoy the sport he loves as well as experiencing the thrill of watching a game “live” with his friends.

It’s amazing how people have devised ways to communicate with those who would have been left out of everything in previous generations. There’s no physical boundary that can’t be overcome with a little time, effort, and above all, love.
