At one dancing school in Makhachkala, Russia, the boys have mastered the art of sass. They’ve also mastered the kind of high-intensity Russian dance moves that make our knees hurt just looking at them. It’s no wonder these kids are all wearing knee and shin pads — these boys are intense!

You may be familiar with Russian dance; it’s an energetic dance that involves a lot of deep knee bends, squats, and bouncing. There are elements of ballet in there too; the combination is graceful, thrilling, and downright breathtaking when done correctly.
Russian dancers have to be in exceptional physical shape. Also good to have, but not necessarily required? Attitude.
And boy, do these kids have that.

As the boys whirl through the rehearsal space, they look like they’re flying. Their feet hardly even touch the floor! But it’s those facial expressions that are cracking us up — these kids aren’t messing around.
Instructor Rasul Soltangišiev is responsible for turning this group of brown-haired boys into the well-greased machine that they are today.
