Expectation vs. Reality: Tourist Visiting The Egyptian Pyramids Reveals Unexpected Surprise

Distant view of the pyramids in Egypt, bright blue sky with white fluffy clouds behind them

What do you imagine when you think about the pyramids in Egypt? Because odds are, the reality of experiencing these pyramids in person is much different than seeing them online. For example, many people imagine that these massive pyramids are in the middle of nowhere. But despite the fact that they’ve been around for thousands of years, they are actually a whole lot closer to civilization than you may realize.

In fact, there are quite a few shops near these magnificent pyramids, many of which are barely a mile away. This is something tourists should be happy to hear — who doesn’t want easy access to a tasty meal while traveling? Still, of all the food options you’d expect in Egypt, the one this tourist spotted was certainly not one of them…

“Convenience at its best,” someone writes in the comment section of the video, with another adding, “Best of both worlds.”

This isn’t the first time this unexpectedly placed Pizza Hut has garnered attention online — and we understand why! There’s something so odd yet amazing about seeing the pyramids and a U.S. fast food restaurant in such close proximity.

While it may seem odd to have a Pizza Hut so close to this historical site, many visitors agree that it’s an unexpectedly great addition. First of all, the food is said to be surprisingly delicious. Best of all, though, the rooftop dining area is the perfect spot to view the pyramids. In the video above, you can get a peek at what it looks like as the sun sets!

“Best place to watch the sunset over the pyramids, trust me,” one person shares in the comments, another adding, “No but fast food abroad is elite. I think it’s because they use slightly different products sometimes locally sourced.”
