As you may know on 25th February I was caught up in a shooting and dragged along the road several blocks under a car. My family and I are very grateful for all the support we have received since the accident and want to say thank you to everyone who has helped us through this difficult time. Unfortunately due to the extent of my injuries I still have a long road to recovery. All donations go directly towards my recovery and rehabilitation. I thank everyone who has already donated from the bottom of my heart. Your kind words and generosity have helped me to power through, I hope to leave the hospital soon. Thank you so much for your love and support, Ellie xox soon. GoFundMe: https://gofund.me/Ocab8058 #fyp #foryourpage #trending #viral #viralvideo #tiktok

That refuge became a nightmare for Ellie as the driver of one of the vehicles decided it was a good time to flee the scene. Ellie had made eye contact with the driver, and he knew she was there. He opted to speed off, carrying Ellie Bentley with him. Hanging on for her life, Ellie was dragged through the streets of St. Louis for several blocks. The hit-and-run driver was later identified as Dionte Taylor.

In an interview with “5 On Your Side,” Ellie stated, “The driver, never asked me to move out the way, never ushered to the side or anything. He looks at me and just completely puts his foot to the gas. Never takes his foot off the gas, just accelerating and accelerating.” Ellie was dumped in front of the Platypus Bar. Someone from the bar called 911, and employees jumped into action. They worked together to apply pressure to Ellie’s injuries to slow the bleeding while waiting for first responders. The actions of the Platypus Bar employees were instrumental in saving Ellie Bentley’s life.
