92-Yr-Old With Dementia Nails “Moonlight Sonata” After Saying She Doesn’t Know It.

Dementia has taken many of Elaine Lebar’s precious memories, but it hasn’t stopped the magic from unfolding every time she sits at a piano. About three years ago, the 92-year-old moved into a senior living community in Buzzards Bay, Massachusetts, where she quickly discovered that her musical talent is still very much intact.

“My mom, a professional musician, has significant dementia, but life makes sense to her at the piano,” her daughter Randi said.

Take the time Randi asked her mom to play the third movement of Beethoven’s “Moonlight Sonata.” Seconds after Elaine told Randi she didn’t know it, her fingers were flying effortlessly across the keys!

Check out her astonishing performance in the video below, and share this story as an example of the power of music.
