Many speculated on what prompted the move, but no one’s disclosed the real motivation. Harry and Meghan have had both supporters and critics on both sides of the pond. They’ve done their best to keep their children’s lives private and skirt controversy, but it sometimes follows them no matter how hard they try. Earl Charles Spencer, Prince Harry’s uncle, recently defended his nephew’s decision to move home. According to People, Charles sat down with Tina Brown at St. Peter’s Chelsea in New York City on September 29 to discuss his new book, Swan Song: Diana, My Sister. His nephew’s move came up in conversation.

Charles Spencer Had Good Things to Say About Prince Harry
Charles Spencer told Tina Brown that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle came to visit him during the summer.
“I mean, it’s a matter of public record, and I wouldn’t have shared this, but, you know, it’s a matter of public record that Harry and his family came to stay with Cat and me this summer,” he said. “If I’m of any use for things like that, that’s fine.”
He added that he doesn’t find it strange that Harry wants to be back home to raise his children. Charles Spencer wants his nephew and his family to feel at home and comfortable, no matter where that is.
“I think what’s interesting is, you forget, these are just regular people at heart, and this English guy’s lived in California; he wants to live in England,” he added. “Seems normal.”
