Social media is a very powerful tool; we all know that. We’ve seen people’s lives change in the most incredible ways because of a simple social media post. Word travels very quickly online, and if you want to spread a message, there’s no better way to do it. A teacher at St. Gregory Primary School in England wanted to show students the power of social media. He posted a video of the students asking Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson to comment on the post. The video went viral with millions of views. It caught the Rock’s attention, who decided a comment wasn’t enough; he wanted to surprise the kids in a huge way.

The Rock Sent the Students a Surprise Message on Social Media
The Rock shared a surprise social media video message back, letting the kids know how much he loved their video and that he had a surprise planned for them. They were all invited to watch the all-new live-action Moana on July 10. He rented out the entire theatre with popcorn, candy, and treats for all the kids.
“Look at their happy faces!! What can I say except ~ YOU’RE WELCOOOOME,” The Rock wrote on social media. “Have so much FUN watching the movie, keep working hard in school, and if you’re having a bad day ~ just remember that you’re all taller than Kevin Hart~ Uncle Maui.”
Fans loved seeing The Rock using his social media and platform for good.
“Dwayne is the best person, the best artist, a true gentleman. @therock You’re the best dude. I love you,” someone wrote.
“Celebs…..pay attention. THIS IS WHAT ITS ALL ABOUT,” another person added. “To bring so much joy is such a blessing! More of this please.”
The school quickly jumped in to thank The Rock again.
“We still can’t believe that this is happening! Thank you so much @therock for doing this incredibly kind, thoughtful and amazing thing for us – we can’t wait to see Moana!” The school commented.
The Rock is a genuinely nice guy who loves his fans, especially kids, and a good surprise. We need so much more of this kind of joy. July 10, 2026 will be a day this school will never forget.
