Students Bring Special Need’s Volunteer To Tears With Surprise They Spent Weeks Planning.

Reading, PA isn’t known for it’s peaceful streets – but one man stands like a shining light on a hill.

In 1976 Bobby Weitzel was walking past Reading High School when he decided to pop his head in and see if they needed any volunteers. More than 30 years later, Bobby still spends everyday walking the halls of Reading High and encouraging those around him.

Bobby was born with special needs, but the kids at Reading High need him around more than he’ll ever know. The aging man spends every moment of his spare time helping out with basketball, football, soccer, theater, and cheerleading groups on campus with an ever-present smile and unmatched positivity.

The kids decided it was time to show Bobby how much they loved him.

They contacted a popular, positivity focused apparel company called ‘Dude, be nice’ to document the big plan they had for Bobby.

Unbeknownst to him, the entire school planned to surprise Bobby at a school wide slam dunk contest with one purpose in mind… give Bobby the best day of his life. Check out the beautiful moment these kids surprise Bobby with the gift of a lifetime in the video below.
