‘Duck Dynasty’ Star Shares Special Message with Moms

Korie Robertson

During the holiday season, it can be hard not to compare yourself to other moms. We see their beautiful-looking trees, picture-perfect wrapping, and gorgeous holiday card photos with everyone in matching pajamas. Sometimes, those things make us feel like we’re not doing enough or doing it all right. But that’s not the case, and Korie Robertson sent a sweet message to all “type B mom ” in the midst of the crazy holiday season.” She identifies with the moms who don’t have it all together, and she reminded us that it’s not only OK, but pretty darn normal.

Korie Robertson is a Mom Like Many of Us

“I love life as a type b mom, but it did come with its downsides, once I showed up an entire week late for a friend’s birthday party. I definitely forgot to pick up a kid at a track meet once, and left one at home that didn’t wake up in time for church,” Korie Robertson wrote on Facebook. “John Luke got really good at forging my signature because I’d forget to sign his papers, and I wasn’t even mad about it, ha! They all survived!”

She added that the holidays shouldn’t be a time for judgment but for kindness, especially toward ourselves.

“Life is full, especially this time of year, give yourself a little grace. You’ll be able to laugh about it one day. And your kids will remember the grace you gave them and the fun that you had in the moments that didn’t go as planned more than the moment you had it all together,” she wrote.

Many moms thanked Korie Robertson for her kind words.

“I feel so seen and love this!!! As a young type b mama, I try to so hard to give routine and structure, but fail to do it for myself and it ends up just falling apart we learn so much about God’s goodness and grace during motherhood, because we need it daily!!” One wrote.

“No judgement or offence to the Type A mom, but Type B moms and kids have a little more fun it’s a little more wild, little more fly-by-the-seat-of-our-pants, a whole lot more flexible, and much easier to roll with the punches!! Haha,” another joked. “Both types are amazing, challenging, and just the way God made us.”
