Dog Slips Into Manhole At Night, Sending Austin Firefighters On A Rescue Mission.

storm drain

Last week, a couple in Austin, Texas were enjoying an evening stroll with their dog, Lucy. The three of them were having a nice time when, suddenly, Lucy took a wrong step. Before anything could be done, the poor pup slipped right into the drain of a manhole.

This moment was no doubt terrifying for both Lucy and the Austin couple. Thankfully, though, help arrived quickly. The Austin Fire Department showed up in no time, ready to do whatever it took to get little Lucy to freedom!

“Cue the A-shift crew from Engine 38, who got the call and were able to pull the pup to safety and reunite her with her owners… who, as you can see, were pretty overwhelmed by the whole event,” the Austin Fire Department shared on Facebook. “We’re happy we were able to help and make sure this story had a ‘paws well’ that ends well happy ending!”

We couldn’t agree more! We’re so happy Lucy is safe and back with her beloved owners. Thank you, Austin Fire Department!
