Dog Mom Shares How Her Labrador Wakes Her Up — And It’s Not Gentle!

A close-up of a woman laying down.

One Labrador doesn’t play around when it comes to getting his breakfast on time, and his mom has the video evidence to prove it! In a hilarious clip on social media, Katie Schafer captured footage of the unsubtle way her dog gets her up in the morning. Although it’s certainly an effective way to rouse someone, it’s not very nice. This pooch must wake up feeling pretty hangry!

In the video, Katie pretended to sleep while waiting for her four-legged alarm clock to strike. She braced herself as the dog made his way over, carrying his food bowl in his mouth. Then, without warning, the Labrador used the metal dish to smack his mom upside the head! There was a resounding clang as the bowl made contact with the poor woman’s noggin.

Once he’d assaulted Mom with his dish, the Labrador continued to bother her for breakfast. Since the bowl had ended up on the woman’s shoulder, the dog used his nose to flick it forward aggressively. You know, just in case Katie hadn’t gotten the hint yet.

“How does your Lab wake you up?” the dog owner asked her followers in the video.

This hysterical clip has already received over 40 million views on social media. Commenters thought the pooch’s violent wake-up call was too funny!

“Not the dents in the bowl from previous beat downs,” one person pointed out.

Another joked, “I think he’s hungry. Hope this helps.”

A third chimed in, “Man, he’s tired of training you!”

In another video, Katie shared that her dog doesn’t just wake her up in the morning — he also makes sure she stays up! This harried mom posted some follow-up footage of her Labrador throwing his bowl around the room even after he’d been fed. Please be aware that there is some NSFW language in this clip.

Being a dog mom isn’t easy, but at least it’s never dull!
