Deion Sanders Reveals Diagnosis In Health Update

Family, friends, and fans have been praying for Deion Sanders as Coach Prime experienced a health setback. While he initially stated he had no plans to discuss his health publicly, he apparently changed his mind. Per People, during a July 28 press conference, Deion Sanders confirmed he’s been battling cancer. Following a bladder cancer diagnosis, Deion had his bladder removed during an offseason surgery. This ultimately cured Deion of the disease, and his doctor gave the press a bit more insight.

“I am pleased to report that the results from the surgeries are that he is cured from the cancer,” Dr. Janet Kukreja, the director of urological oncology at the University of Colorado Cancer Center, said.

Deion Sanders Credited God With Saving His Life

Deion Sanders commented on how scary cancer can be and how many patients have a much different outcome than he did.

“When we hear that word, it’s usually a life sentence attached to it,” he said. “But not this time. Not this time, because God got me.”

Deion added that life changed dramatically for him, and he now relies on a urostomy bag.

“Slowly but surely, I built myself back up,” he said. “I’m able, I’m strong. it has been a tremendous journey and I’m truly thankful that God is so good. God is so good, you have no idea. You have no idea how good God has been for me to be here. You have no idea.”

Fans loved hearing the news that Deion Sanders is cancer-free. Many took to social media to share well wishes with Coach Prime.
