The joy felt when you hear a favorite song or voice of a long lost friend is something special indeed… but can you imagine never hearing the sound of rain, music or laughter? 4-year-old Kai has never heard any of those things – or even her own voice – but all that is about to change.
When the doctor turns Kia’s hearing aids on for the first time, it took a second for her brain to process the wave of information… but after just a few moments her reaction is unbelievably heartwarming. She was born with 50% hearing loss in one ear, and 65% in the other.
“Oh my gosh, this is so funny. I can hear my voice!”
